PUPPIES!

Snoopy is looking very shy!

Leo is so small compared to the front steps.

Yes, it's not like we don't have enough to do, but we needed to add some new family members to the mix... It's almost been two weeks now since we got them.. I lovely family in Neosho Mo. gave them do us, and yes, they are weiner dogs, (minis). Since Derek and Brian were gone to MO. to spend the week with my parents the same weekend that we got the puppies we didn't say much about it.. We wanted them to have a great time there and not wish that they were with us. So now the posting of the puppies.. Leo is the two tone brown with cute little red feet and some extra red on his eyebrows.. Snoopy is the Piebald coloring, the stipe done the side of his face and eye makes him so cute. Both have had their first shots and worming medicine,(which most all puppies have them), baths for fleas which they also had.. So we are on the route now with a schedule and potty training. They will go as soon as we take them in the yard and we are limiting where they go in the house. But, there has been something different about Snoopy, he's a follower and a bit more into biting his brother than I would have liked. (some typical play but he won't give it up) He's also not coming to his name when called, and Leo does. Finally, last night while he was sleeping in the screen porch, I clapped my hands about 3 feet from him and nothing. He didn't jump, turn his head or move at all. It became very clear to me that he's not hearing.. After some reading on the internet today it seems that I'm probably right. I didn't realize either that piebald colored dog and white dogs, or dogs with white coloring on their heads are more common to hearing problems or deafness. Generally, having a deaf dog isn't a worry to me as it is a concern for him. I'm so glad that out of the 3 brothers we had to pick from, we didn't leave him behind alone. He's going to need his brother very much for the rest of his life. Now, to train the kids to respect and train the deaf dog is more of a concern.. LOL... IT's difficult when all you know is to "Call" a dog with your voice and you expect them to come. We will need to get some special training going for this our new special puppy. Back to reading about lease and sign training for deaf dogs. BOY, AREN'T THEY CUTE~
