November update

Don's work selects a best costume each year for a day off work. He went as Homer Simpson this year.. Shaved his head and eyebrows and had a Zig-Zag in the back of his head and we even glued some strands of hair from Andrea to the top for some wisps on top... BUT, still he didn't win! It was fun~
I wore Grandpa Harvey's overalls and shirt to work and was a farmer for the day. IT made my day when one little guy walked in and I ask, "I have my costume on, do you know what I am?"

This was also the first year that Brian and Andrea didn't dress up or go trick or treating. So it was pretty quiet here. No one came to our house to tricks or treats and no one went out!

We did grow a nice selection of pumpkins and gourds this year and we have had them all around the house. Andrea did carve one with come difficulty as it was 2 inches thick. We have cut up and cooked two with hopes of making Pumpkin pie and Bread in a week or two.

NEWS FROM THE ARMY FRONT~
Derek called yesterday to let us know that he's sending the first of two boxes home and we should see it this week. They are now staying in temp. housing, which is the first part of their moving out of Iraq. He has gotten his promotion to SPECIALIST, SPC, and his pay should reflect it soon. They are hopful that they will arrive in Indiana before THANKSGIVING, but his travels may still be limited, since they will have only a few hours with family and then be taken off for 3-4 days of demolization. So lots of things are up in the air.

Casey called two days ago, he and a buddy were on their way to Florida for a 4 day pass. They have been told that their deployment will be put off till Dec. 5. but no telling if that is so or not.
They may or may not get passes for THANKSGIVING week, (I'm betting that they do,) but it will depend on pricing and the number of days, and if the Army tells him he can travel, if he will come home for that time.

Oh, the life of having family in the ARMY! It's ever changing and never the same twice. This next two months presents a real challenge for us with one son coming home and one son leaving. I thought it was over and now it starts over again~!
