This week was sure interesting:

An essential part of dressing right now~

Thursday, Brian got his certificate for being on the football team this year, 7th and 8th grade boys had a winning year and it was tons of fun to be involved with them.

This spring has been cool and rain, rain, rain.. So this a seeming normal week as far as weather goes. We were to have softball, but that was cancelled twice due to weather.

Then Friday morning was the most interesting. We left the house at the normal time 6:55 for our drive to J and D's house to catch the bus. But it was raining hard and it was really blowing. Brian and I chatted about the different ways the wind was blowing when we were driving out the drive way. IT was very wierd. We dropped the Netflix DVD's in the mail box and headed on. The bus was about 10 minutes late and the rain had hardly let up the whole time we set in the driveway. Finally when Josh, told us they weren't going to get on the bus, we decided to get out of the truck and drive home. But when we discovered a tree down across the road leaving their house, we decided to stay and go inside. We could hardly get out of the truck and close the doors to make it inside the house. We all went to the basement with J and D, and kids, it was quite a storm blowing and rain beating down. We were surprised once when we came up to see Green at the back sliding door. The huge branch had fallen right in front of their sliding door and just missed the house. We didn't hear a thing. The school bus was sitting out in the street with kids on the bus and they had just missed the tree behind them and were pulling ahead to try and get out of the way. But their we more trees down that direction as well. it finally turned around and came back to let some kids off at J and D's so they could go and take the rest of the kids home. School had been called off by this time. The High school was damaged and all the electric was off. We were with out power at J and D's house and our house 6 miles away was with out power until 9pm that night.

this is one of our little trees we planted 3 years ago. It was just getting going and was such a nice size.

This is the umbrella, table and chairs from our back deck. All the glass was broke and the table was bent all up.

We cleaned glass, (blown out of the porch) and debris all morning.
Don worked on the sump pumps all afternoon to get them to work with the battery back up that was dried up and dead, then working on the actual pump to get it to stop leaking and pump better, and finally messing with an inverter hooked to the car in the garage so that the pump would still pump the water when he was working. SHEW~ It so wonderful to have a husband that can fix ANYTHING~
Finally I cleaned the Ref. and Freezer and hauled it all to the church to cook what I could for the kids there. They loaded in the church van and headed out to clean debris around the neighborhood and then back to eat and have a lock in at the church. Both kids came home this morning very tired~
I hope that next week is quietier and calmer.

This is the roof on the porch. one class window was broke out and 6 screens were blown out. The glass and screen was all over the yard.

THANKS to God that it wasn't any worse and that no one was hurt and the house is still standing.
Also,,, Happy Mother's Dy to all the mom's and to my MOM!~ Many hugs and THANKS~
