Our Thanksgiving was a bit different this year. Even though we are thrilled to know Derek is sleeping in the US, he's not here. Casey is still in the US, but not here either, It's hard for a mom to not Gather in the flock at home! We had a great week at home mostly. Brian and Andrea had their school musical on Tuesday and that was super. What a great job that music teacher did with the kids. Wed. was off work for me and school for the kids. So we just hung out with soem computer time and laundry. We chose to have Thursday lunch at Ryan's Buffet in Joplin and to the movie "BOLT." I hit the street at 3:30 on Friday to shop alone, it was fun for me since I really don't mall shop or even Big Retail shop at all, I'm a "GarageSaler." The fun comes when you watch others being crazy and I was just out there, managed to get a couple deals and hopefully make some happy at Christmas. Then home on Friday to bake pies with Ann and to preparefor the Kansas Thompson/Gordon family members come over on Sat. That was fun to get them all over and to EAT~
We are very THANKFUL for family and friends, work and church friends that keep us sane in this time of change. We are GRATEFUL to all that show love and support while we never know who or what is happening. Having family members in the Military presents the challenge of arranging things over and over and yet again. I really do like a plan, for it's most easy to cook when you know people will be able to come. So it's been a challenging time for me to say, "YES, we can do that," all long wishing that the Boys were home.
I'm so Thankful that we have family and friends that are here, willing to come and willing to invite us over when the time is good and the mood strikes. THANKS!~
