First week of school done!

Not sure of the year, but isn't this fun to compare to this years picture???...
They are a bit older now, stand a bit farther apart and seem to think a little less of one another!
The first week of school is over. Not too bad for the first week. Andrea had some homework and Brian had a bit too, but hopefully it was pretty painless. This was also the first week we had kids in the classroom where I work. It's always fun to watch them come in and see that we have cleaned the room and that things are moved around. What great faces they make, even saying, "this isn't my room!" But it's still the same, same stuff, same people and same things to do. Learn about things they are missing and learn about what they don't have a clue they should know, learn to play and learn to have fun with others. Really isn't that what life is about. Getting along with others. Have friends, having fun and doing things we enjoy! If we can't do these things then what do we have? Family, jobs and projects of home improvements, college work and home work getting together for food, fun and laughs. WHY else are we here?
Also this week, I hit a dog! When I went back to see if anyone was home, I found two small children standing over a dying pet. How did this happen? It was raining, cars were behind me and one meeting me. I was close to home and so I pass by their house all the time. Why was this dog in the road when I was coming by? What did God want me to notice that I'm not seeing? I'm a careful driver and I was watching carefully the road as the rain came down and I looked just for a second to click on the wipers. Then there he was, too late. Things sure do change fast. Is it just this time or are they always happening this way? Why is it now that I see the changes? Is it age, is it the time of year, what is it that happens to make me notice?
I do know for sure that if we don't see the changes and appreicate them we will miss out on life. Changes are good, they make us think. I like to think that I'm flexible and that I can adapt to change, but sometimes it's the amount of changes happening at home time that make you say.. STOP! I will watch and I will appreciate the things that we have and what is changing, I will watch more carefully and I will change more with ease. This is something that I wait for to happen, but like the saying goes,,,"God give me patience and give them right now"
Change is good when I don't have to change too much!
