AMAZING! it's April 11th and I've just gotten time to update the BLOG. Really the news here in weather news.. it's rained and rained and now it's cold again. Down into the freezing temps tonight.. But HEY at least it's not snow. In MN. they are getting a spring covering and I remember those all too well!
We spent 13 years paying attention to the weather. Mostly the winter weather, but those spring storms can be big ones too. Here in KS its the rain, we have had tons of it in the past 3 years, currently the past month about 13 inches.. Which is enough to make the yard a sponge and the Creek at the end of the road a River covering the closest way to town. It generally lasts a couple of days and then we can get around with just low amounts running off the fields at the lowest point. Above you can see the view on our road.
We have started our Allergy season this week with Brian sick last Sunday, we skipped church for a visit to the Urgent Care. He got some medicine and seemed to be feeling better this week. But Ann started coughing and blowing and so today I took her in. I started it last night and so it was a duel visit. We both got some prescriptions and then discussed Brian with the Dr. and got one for him as well. So hopefuly we are on the road to wellness, the rain is drying up and they say there is a chance of 80 by next Wed. I know that we will be out soaking it up.
I did some baking last weekend. Christy gave me some amish bread starter and I made it up into some yummy cupcakes and bread. We have eaten them all this week and it was nice to have homemade snacks on hand. Breakfast has gotten harder to fix and have time to eat. The kids are taking their showers in the morning so it's a rush to get out the door. We haven't had much sunlight to wake us up and with the rain falling more then rays, we are slowwwww.
So I hope that will turn around this week and we will have some SUN!.
