Little League Kansas Champions!!!!!

Cherokee, Kansas is very proud of the 11-12 year old boys baseball team... And we at the Thompson house had a super weekend watching them win against Paola Ks. 2 out of 3 games. We were thrilled to see Josh (3rd from right in the front) pitch a NO hitter on Friday night and for the whole team to win on Sat. night 15 to 7.. Saturday night the boys were all off and didn't play well so Paola won. But it was the final on Sat. that give them the State Champs!! Now the team is off to Indianapolis next week to play in the Regional tournment. John Thompson (left back) will have to get ready to teach at PSU working on the road on his laptop!! We are very proud of the whole team!! We wish that we were making the trip with them!

From the excitement I had to create some special totes for a couple of the moms to take along on the trip.. Josh and John are pictured in the one on the left for Debbie, and Chandra will have the tote on the right with the team shirt on it and the team pictures are on the back of both totes! This was alot of fun for me to make a special unique keepsake for both of them.

I will post them on the webpage for orders if you are interested on how to have one made for yourself or a loved one!

Ceiling done! Well, sort of!

Well it's almost done. I still have some trimming to do around the edges. But, overall it's done! My arm and elbow have taken the beating from all this work. So I've taken it easy for a while now. Once I got to the point of uncovering the furniture and removing the plastic from everything it was easy to say it's done.
We still have work to do on the walls and floor. But that is time!
We are pretty easy going about living in a less then perfect house and so that makes it o.k. to have things not finished.
Don has finished the bricks on the fireplace and he's ready to put up the barnboard panel, which is the top of the fireplace. But he's still planning on building a deck outside on the right of the fireplace. He wants a door there so we have easier access to the wood in the winter. It's pretty amazing how much we can warm up the whole house with that nice wood insert fireplace. I would like him to build a corner cabinet from barnboards for the tv and electronics, so we have a bit more to work on. Right now it's time to enjoy the kids and attend ballgames to support the Cherokee Ball team.
